TroDrop

Privacy policy

Draft for the pilot. The final text follows TroDrop's registration with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana (Data Protection Act, 2012 — Act 843) and the confirmed retention periods.

TroDrop is operated by MoyoLab. This page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do.

Senders

Your phone number (to sign in), your name, and optionally an e-mail and a business name. For each parcel: the recipient's name and phone, a description and an optional photo, the declared value, the payment method and, for cash on delivery, the amount to collect. We use them to price, carry and track your parcel and to pay you what recipients pay on delivery.

Recipients

Your name and phone number, given by the sender, so we can tell you where to collect the parcel and send you the pickup code. The legal basis is delivering the parcel you receive. Partner shops see your name and only the last three digits of your number.

Trotro drivers

Your phone number, name and vehicle plate, entered by the shop at handover, so we can confirm your number by SMS and pay you by Mobile Money. You never receive senders' or recipients' numbers.

Shop owners and staff

Your phone number and name; for owners, the Ghana Card number and photo seen at onboarding (stored encrypted, visible to TroDrop operators only), the shop's location, photo, opening hours and the Mobile Money number for payouts (stored encrypted).

Photos

Shops photograph parcels at drop-off, arrival and collection. These photos are the evidence of each handover. They are stored privately and shown only to the sender, the shops involved and TroDrop operators.

Payments

Mobile Money payments are processed by Paystack. We never see or store your PIN. We keep the payment reference and amount.
